A Decade with Day6 (and why we are definitely running a decade more with them)

Firstly, before I start, I just want to say, "HI! HOW ARE YOU? IT HAS BEEN A WHILE!"
Funny how my last post was waaay back in 2020, and I attempted a draft in April 2023(but it never saw the light of day), and here I am. Trying to revive this little blog page.
Let's see how far I go.
So what's up? quick recap of my life. I have been to A LOT of concerts I haven't written about(please see my tiktoks fo updates @charm.minmin). Been to Korea to watcha few. And yeah, dressing up for each concert as usual.
So what's the recent sitch?
The super band of all super bands, DAY6, opens up 2026 concerts!
Day 6, THE DECADE World Tour came to Manila, and we are glad it's just the start of the year. It is their 10th-anniversary tour, and as a fan who was there since day 1, it felt really different. It was a mixture of "woah we came so long" to "those 10 years were years of beauty"; and not to mention their back LED was a collection of books stacked together with all their song titles on the spine. It hit different.

They had the show at MOA Arena, and it was a full one (well, with a bit more space at the standing section, which I was glad about because we had a free space to party)
So Day6? Why stan Day6?
Dare I say Day6 is not your usual band. They stand apart from all bands with songs not only talking about love and heartbreak but also about life.
Day6 had songs relating to your down times, your happiest moments, your depressed days, your peak love stories, your breakups, your heartbreaks, your moments of feeling betrayed, your moments of standing back again, your struggles as a young adult, your little wins, your crazy, random days when you just want to dance, and your slow days where you just want to chill.
Their song discography is our lives in general. There's no song in the Day6 arsenal that you cannot relate to your season at the moment. (REAL TALK)
That's why listening to them was the best choice I made in my life.
They speak life.
(Kudos to the members. Those 10 years were not a walk in the park. They also had their best days and their worst days, but they still chose to write songs about their lives for us to relate.)
So, being there for the fourth time, as they were coming to the country, was another adventure for my books. And being there for the 10th anniversary was definitely a core memory. I was so glad we chose not to do barricade this time because we got to see the stage in full view, see them up close if we want to, but most of the time, we had so much space at the back to jump. (and drink beer. woohooo!!!)
The intro to the concert was a sing-along of Welcome to the Show where they had all the My Days sing the song. It was like having the fans actually start the concert.
(and of course we slayed it. Who dared challenge Filo fans to a sing-along. When we are the masters of Karaoke. LOL)
Their opening song? TIME OF OUR LIFE.
There was no other song to describe that moment. It was indeed the time of our lives. (insert crying emoji here. happy cry)
My best songs were:
Happy
You Were Beautiful (The Queen)
Shoot Me
Love me or leave me (My Days were in a rave party)
Congratulations (ofc)
And the best set for me was the extended stage set. That was where all the best hits were played.
Funny how they went on for 2, almost 3, hours straight without a break. It was either that they were in a hurry to go home, or they were just so into it.
But eitherway, I'm happy they went all in.
And I just want to say, they all seemed to be in a good mood that night, in the best condition.
Very different from the previous concert, where they were suffering from stomach flu and obviously they were not well. This time, they were flying, their energies were light, and they obviously were having fun.
THANK YOU DAY6 GUYS!
Day6 is just that one band that all mid 20s to early 30s gret up with.
They were the
EPITOME OF YOUTHFUL ADULTING,
and walking with them made this world a little bit better.
So if you haven't listened to Day6 yet(just listen. I do not ask you to stan them. Just know the songs), I invite you to have this distant friend whom you can relate to your season. Wherever you are in your life, maybe they can make your days better than yesterday.
PS: Shout out to WONPIL.
I know everyone is all about him already, but this is my entry: HE WAS A TOTAL ANGEL!
The videos, the screen, nor your phones, and even the LED wall behind them did not give him justice. You have to see him up close and realize how pretty he was. (or was it because of his semi-brushed-up hair? Nevertheless, he was beautiful.)
DAY6 IS BEAUTIFUL.

See you at the next one!
Janey~
